Back In The Third Dimension...

With a vengeance...
It's...
The folks.

Oh, hello, internet folk. Where have you been?

Yes, we haven't updated the blog in a while, but believe us when we say we have a good excuse.

The story starts a month ago when we were sidewalk walkin' and all of a sudden we spot the folks of MGMT. We approached them and we were like, "Oh, hey MGMT. What's going on?" and they said with a suspicious smirk on their face (in unison), "Oh, not much. Just going to a small get-together, care to join?"

Long story short...

We even saw E-603 there and we were like, "OMG E! What are you doing here? Don't you have an album to be releasing?" And he said, "Don't you understand? The music's in your heart." Then he slowly dissolved into rainbow dust particles. Moon juice is some crazy shit.

Anyways, after perhaps a good couple of eons of partying (yeah, eons) we jacked MGMT's motorcycles and time-traveled back "here" again.

When we arrived we couldn't quite recall our identities. For the past eternity we had been referred to as The Pleasant Pheasant and the Pleasephant, but now we were called by the odd names of "Chris" and "Rahul" leaving us perplexed as we walked the streets of "Dayton, Ohio" on "Planet Earth".

It all came together though, (Hummers, Juno, Obama, Cicadas, D's, Pancakes, Kanye West Concerts, The Cool Kids, Lykke Li, Apple Fries, Poke'Mon, Bikes)  when we arrived at the Dayton Dirt Collective and heard the familiar sounds of our fellow time travelers, the andriod Ruckus Roboticus and the intergalactic ape-man, Vitamin E.

Ruckus Roboticus.

Vitamin E with DJ Possum.

Listening to the comforting sounds of children's records cut up and scratched while getting acquainted with some interesting folk (Gretchen, Mateo James, and a mysterious boy under the alias "Billy Burdick" or "Dolla Bill")

By the end, after our journeys from the limits of the universe and back, we realized that there was only one truth in life...

Kung Fu.

So there. We are back. And if you're ready, we're ready too. If we're ready, you may not be ready but sometimes we may not be ready either so it's ok. Basically we are saying it's a definite possibility that we will keep up with the blog. But still. Be ready.

Who Are You For Telling Us We're Dying, Forbes?

In fact, we're the livest city around!

Recently, Forbes ranked the fastest dying (in terms of industry, population, employment, etc.) cities in America.
.
.
"Where's it worst? Ohio, according to our analysis, which racked up four of the 10 cities on our list: Youngstown, Canton, Dayton and Cleveland. The runner-up is Michigan, with two cities--Detroit and Flint--making the ranking."

.

.

But before you run away from Dayton and hop on a midnight train to one of those hip old fancytowns such as Portland, Oregon, why don't you let the sound of the cicadas drown out your woes?

swallow your sorrows at the Golden Nugget?

throw some D's on that bitch?

Are we, the collective 937, compensating for something with our rims? Because let's face it, though the GM and Ford plants may close down, Dayton rims will probably never go the way of... we take it back.

....

But before you nab that one way ticket to hipster town, folks of D-Town, look in your own damn backyard (or apartment rooftop rather), and check out Ruckus Roboticus. The Diplo of old children records? We'd say. But don't take our word for it.
